Please add Mindcage to the list:

Nightwish is NOT Progressive Metal.
Even Bon Jovi is more progressive metal than Nightwish.
Please add Jethro Tull and Helstar to the list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.100.24.159 (talk) 18:23, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

{{edit semi-protected|answered=yes} Please add the Norwegian progressive metal band Leprous to the list under L. Supporting sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leprous http://www.heavyblogisheavy.com/2011/11/08/leprous-bilateral/ http://www.angrymetalguy.com/leprous-bilateral-review/ http://www.leprous.net/

- None of those sources you listed are reliable, but the Wiki article was supported by an About.com review which uses the progressive metal label. I'll add Leprous to the list.--¿3family6 contribs 11:44, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

I'd like to see Gojira in the list. And since Dead Soul Tribe is there, why is there no reference to Psychotic Waltz? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.89.5.244 (talk) 07:54, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Borknagar
I always thought Borknagar should be added to the Progressive Metal page. Started solely as Black Metal, then started evolving with each album into progressive territory.
Add Sieges Even to list
Please add Sieges Even to the list... Drmosh (talk) 19:48, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
- Why?...Curb Chain (talk) 04:37, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Add Corelia to list
Should probably add Corelia since they're one of the rising stars of progmetal... http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6742 Drmosh (talk) 05:45, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

progarchives
I've taken a look at the website, and noted that I was mistaken when I claimed here that it is an unreliable source.Curb Chain (talk) 06:35, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Progarchives is about as reliable as metal archives is, it's completely user submitted. I call the big one bitey (talk) 07:37, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- It does use advertising.Curb Chain (talk) 07:39, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
How does that make it reliable? none of the review writers and site admins/mods who categorize the bands are professional journalists or critics. I call the big one bitey (talk) 07:46, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- The same could be said about about.com. Many of about.com's authors are freelance writers.Curb Chain (talk) 08:15, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- progarchives has been around quite a while and most of us in the progmetal community agree to most of it's listings... most "professional" journalists barely have any idea what progmetal is... Drmosh (talk) 08:18, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- User:I call the big one bitey is right on further investigation of [1].Curb Chain (talk) 08:22, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
But not just anyone can write for about dot-com. I'm sure they check their writers credentials to ensure their pages are of high quality and reliability. Any person with an account can write reviews for progarchives and become a "special collaborator", even an 8 year old for example. Same applies for progarchives sister sites metalmusicarchives and jazzmusicarchives Also just because it's trusted by the "prog metal community" doesn't make it reliable, otherwise Metallum would be an rs since it's trusted by metalheads. I call the big one bitey (talk) 09:13, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
remove Wolfmother
I suggest removing Wolfmother, they are not even close to progmetal and the article cited does not seem to exist anymore... Drmosh (talk) 07:02, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
re-add Watchtower
Watchtower is definitely one of the original progmetal bands... I won't cite sources since it's been added and removed a few times already... Drmosh (talk) 08:07, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- But if you can't find the sources, we aren't compelled to add it.Curb Chain (talk) 08:24, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
FYI
I don't know if this notice will help out this list much, but I wanted to let you all know that Curb Chain has been topic banned from having anything to do with list articles until late this year. In looking at the history of this specific list article here, I note that Curb Chain has done some extensive editing of it in the past. So, if you've had some trouble in editing (or adding some band names to) this list here in the past, now would be a good time to take action. I realize that this list is in need of some more (or better) references, so keep that in mind as well. Happy editing... Guy1890 (talk) 01:55, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

Please put Canvas Solaris in the list of bands. Thanks! Remliel619 (talk) 20:18, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
- Not done as you have not provided a reliable independent source confirming that the band is progressive metal, which is an requirement for every entry in the list.
I also note that the article Canvas Solaris is currently being considered for deletion - Arjayay (talk) 11:54, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
